I agree time is a healer , the pain over time subsides

But with a wound like that (I mean famil)y , even with time it never heals truely , you learn to just live with the scars .

A few more, keeping pictures on 4 devices is great till you come to sort 2 years worth of pictures out..

This is how we lifted the bigger beam into place

insulation and vapour sheet going on the front

We used 8" x 2" for the door frame as we knew the doors would be heavy

cladding going on

And all done

Inside the block work got coated with a water proofing slurry just inccase..

Getting secure..
Made up some doors using box section

and did a bit of a test fit

added some braces

As the hinges needed to be strong i cut out 6 slots for the hinges

The metal plates were bent out in 6mm and the hinges from Brundles tacked into places

After lots of testing the doors were welded permanently to the hinges

The plan was for the doors to open right back against the building which worked out just right

and finally some cladding went on the doors, the close up of the hinge shows the pin sticking out that goes into the hinge to stop anyone pulling the hinge pins out and opening the doors, The windows were made from polycarbonate rescued from bus shelters and some ally strip riveted on.

I have mates who are builders that are pretty good with jobs and some who are a bit slap dash, My problem is i like to do things right once so i take ages.

If i get permission i want to put an apex roof on around 40 degrees to create roof storage but thats not for now.

Likewise.
Not always possible though. Far to many people with champagne tastes and lemonade budgets these days.

Few more years renting then I can start working on my own bricks and mortar.

Yes the shelving has been put in and it is finished as in i can use it but there are still things i need to sort out, But things have got busy at the moment with cars and the house.

And the RSJ tip sticking out front, you must have something planned for that, well handy to make use of

The beam sticking out the front was to give it more of a farm or industrial look but there will be a shackle on it so if we wanted to unload something we can attach a hoist.

You have done a fantastic job and love the doors. I have took a few things on board for my mini shed build. May I ask the wood cladding you used what is the thickness ?

The timber cladding is about 25mm thick down to 8mm thick with a rebate of about 15mm, which allows some adjustment if you go a bit wonky the side rails are 38mm x 80mm It is all tanalised from a timber yard where i go and sort what i want to try and get more select lengths.
