Out of interest, did it come stocked with anti sick pills.I think that was deliberate, pretty cool though. Flexible soil pipes and services from memory?

Its on the Thames…mill pond springs to mind till you get out in the Estuary. From memory it slid up and down on huge piles so wouldn't move much. Until you ask “did the earth move for you dear?”Out of interest, did it come stocked with anti sick pills.![]()
Being born 100 yds from the River Mersey in Warrington I was used to seeing it flood the local park. Now they have built flood defences in Warrington it will be interesting how it works out. The dredging is only at Liverpool, Widnes and Warrington being upstream of the entrance to the Manchester Ship Canal, something else owned by Peel Holdings. Worth checking out their portfolio. One of the lads at work used to work on a dredger in the mersey, day one they pulled up a ww2 bomb he wasn't impressed.
As far as I am aware its still dredged?

People to stop buying them but they look so nice on the brochure when the sun is shining what could possibly go wrong. But that is just it, it's backward thinking, not to build flood proof homes, in fact make it law, on flood plains, nothing else but flood proof homes.
Ridiculous, building new build traditional type properties on flood plains or areas prone to flooding.
Jesus! what does it bloody take!
But that to is an issue, home buyers will buy whatever is dished out/on the market with new builds and maybe they need protecting from themselves by law.People to stop buying them but they look so nice on the brochure when the sun is shining what could possibly go wrong.
How come they get mortgages on property in that situation let alone insurance ?
Just had a thought ,as insurance is just another arm of the betting trade then they just pay more for the protection.

Town C cops it.You would wonder if we fit a flood defence at Town A and town B what happens to the water?
It happened here in the spring. After some heavy rainfall the water level in a reservoir above the town that feeds the canal rose above, but not critically, the normal level, so the manager opened the sluices and flooded part of the town below causing millions of euros of damage. At a public meeting soon after he defended his action saying his responsibility was to the canal, not the town. Apparently he was luck to escape lynching.Town C cops it.
Burreg them, they're downstream so we don't care.
