No different than someone refitting a Webasto fabric roof to a non sunroof mini I suppose.

I've recovered a webasto once and the factory cuts are quite frankly shocking. Pretty sure it won't be hard just measure several times before cutting.

Cheers @bert ,there’s a guy on YouTube called Fitzee’s Fabrications who shows how he cuts in panels from another vehicle by using the disc cutter at 45’ which leaves an angled fillet which supports the new panel and leaves it with no gap to fill.

Mines fitted with a classic mini roof, so no reason why a new mini one wouldn't fir a mini !

The origial was a large fabric jobbiee from the factory, all of the insert channel was rusted out, so i origianally fitted a sierra one, but with the colour change, black to green, it would stand out too much, so the sierra one came out and the mini trimmed to suit giving a one piece look and no leaks

Would never know looking at the shape of the roof, looks genuine! Perfect lines.

I was lucky, someone else did the hard work to find out what fitted best and my mate drove me to barrybados to pick it !

Started cutting out the sills in readiness for my new M-Machine sill and floor section. Not best pleased with the existing metalwork with multiple rusty layers with over sills covering rust but I wasn’t expecting any different.
Just shows how much bad news they are.

My M-Machine sills arrived this afternoon but won’t be fitted until my new door post strengthener arrives so I continued unpicking the roof and A-pillar spot welds and removing the old seams ready to take the new door frame. I also linished back the paint on the roof lip, cut out the rusty bits and and stuck some zinc primer on the bare metal. More tomorrow.

Looking good butt. I remember doing the sills on my mini project. I managed to get a long lance on the end of an old schultz gun and filled them with some old paint I had lying around before welding in the closing panel?

Paint shouldn’t be a problem @lchris21 I have 25l of offshore spec epoxy in black!

I take it the BM Mini sun roof is manual, I shudder to think how you would graft BMW electrics to a BMC car though it is only changing one letter so you should be fine.
