@ukracer you’re always remarkably candid about your personal situation and I admire you for that. You obviously haven’t got the smoothest run of things either and you’ve got my admiration for dealing with it better than most too. I’m sure I’m not alone in that.

Drowning in stuff is about as good for a person as drowning in your own urine.

I’m going to do my best to follow the advice in this thread myself. When you step out of your garage and would be quite happy if it just burnt down you know you’ve gone wrong somewhere!

Its working... I can see the results. I just had a bad week with weather and school closures due to broken heating system. Yesterday topped it off... I find it funny today. Lol

Having read all of the above- quite a bit of it resonates with me.
I have stored some stuff for 30 years- but can I find the pesky thing exactly when I need it? Guaranteed it will be needed two days or a week after it gets disposed of…

But I really like the ‘get rid of 6 things a week’ - that sounds manageable- and I do know much pit won’t be missed after the initial pain, and I will very much enjoy the extra space in the workshop.

Thanks @roofman - it seems you have protected many of us from ourselves- perhaps we all ought to send you some ’stuff’ as a reward

My grandfather used to save used nails & straighten them, that takes a bit of beating for saving rubbish!

I still do if they're good.
