Well I think I have now come up with a quicker method of changing from Pulse to SuperPulse. Well it seems to be working so far anyway

I saved Job 76 to the user defined Job 129 and then again to 130.
I then set Job 130 up as SuperPulse and left Job 129 as standard Pulse.

All seems to be working as it should so now all I have to do is press Job button and then either choose 129 or 130


I am sure there will be some sort of problem that arises with my latest attempt

Why not set a programme up with superpuls activated, then as you have discovered you can select programmes from a standard torch, you could limit the programmes from 15 to 2, then switch between superpuls on and off jobs, which would be set up with identical parameters? If you get what i mean??

Ha ha yes, it didn't work as I expected though as you could only have set values in the programme and thus couldn't adjust the current via the push/pull guns pot.

The User Job way I have it now will suit me fine, saves me scrolling right through to get the On/Off for SuperPulse. Can't swap between them via the standard torch but no big deal.

Oh well got a spare 10mins before I headed home to try out the User defined Jobs and they are certainly not what they should be.
Looks like I am going to have to do a bit more reading and see where I have gone wrong as there is no way it is copying the correct job over

Hi, I really recommend new PM series functional torch. I bought PM301CG RD3X.
I can change Amps and voltage correction or program. Best thing is very bright Led lighting. I made storage rack from square tubing and lighting conditions were pretty bad during job. Torch really helped me out

I need a push-pull torch and for a function one they are north of £3k list.

I know it And forgot to mention that this info is for other forum users. There is no new PM torch with push pull. Simply, if to look at EWM website, then older style torch recommend with Phoenix. I spoke with local EWM dealer and he said, that customers are testing new PM torch and feedback is really good.

I have read the manual again and I can't see what I am doing wrong unless P12 is not set to the factory default of 1.

Just in case I am reading wrong here is what I did.

Pressed Job button
Didn't need to rotate the dial as the job I wanted to copy (Job 76) was already loaded.
I then pressed the Job button for 5 seconds and the display changed to cP4 (Copy)
Turned Wire feed and 129 Job appeared.
Pressed the Job button again to accept.

First job on a boat with the 355 today and I was very happy with it.
First thing was I could only get the car to within 10m of the boat due to the boatyards crane and an old winch being on the pier. That however allowed me to get the wire feed right beside the boat and then reach all I needed with the push-pull. If I had been using the 330 then I would have had to get the crane to lift the welder onto the boat and I would have had to finish early as the boatyard finish at 3:30 on a Friday.

The welding also impressed me, it seems a bit better on badly corroded Alu than the 330 is, not that the 330 is too bad but the 355 just seemed better. I was filling in old bold holes that were left after steel rollers had been removed, the holes were massive and really badly corroded and although the original Alu was 5mm I had to set the welder to 2-2.5mm most of the time and for a few of them it was as low as 1.3mm.

Had a spare few mins today so tried again to save a Job to the User defined job list but still didn't work.
I checked that parameter P12 was set to 1 as it should have been as it is factory default, it was so no problem there.

Here is a pic of the instructions in the manual and a video of what I am doing. Anyone see where I am going wrong?

I think that I resolved one mystery I had previously with EWM taurus 355 Synergic. I had somehow strange arc start. Kind of green arc with co2. And I simply let it go. Not my machine and no more possibility to check. Now I had same thing with my Phoenix +M21 argon/co2 mix + 1 mm steel And REVERSE POLARITY !
It happened because I welded as a test with EWM gasless wire and reversed polarity for it. Then swapped back to standard 1 mm steel and . It was strange... Especially welding start and wire transfer... I even saw metal transfer drops, not before like this. Made factory data reset. But nothing. Weld itself did not look very bad, average. End of day. On next day fresh start and look at cables, and then I realized... I left it for Flux gasless setting. Stupid.....
Cable swap and arc is back nice blueish color, starts perfect and weld is easier to see through helmet ...
