How can it get round the side of the valve stem, when the valve stem is wrapped in a spring, and the rocker pivots directly overhead?
Think so but I won’t know till I get it out on the road but if it is I got lucky as it could have been a lot worse with that but coming offSo is it sorted now or not?
At the cap. Had one jammed in where the adjuster snapped on a pushrod engine. All the pushrods were bent too except that valve.
I’ve seen some wierd and wonderful things happen on engines, especially when you consider valves are opening and closing a hundred times a second, at 9000 rpm.
Yup knew it’s not a good thing and haven’t put a magnet through it yet but there was no big chunks in it don’t know where it’s coming from thoughSparkly from here!
Which, as if you didn't know already, is probably not a good thing.
Have you dipped a magnet through it yet?
I’m hoping it’s from the valve adjuster hitting the rocker coverI don't know your engine so I'm afraid I can't help.
Good luck all the same.
Its not a good thing, but espescially when newish you always get a bit. Id suggest flushing through if you have some spare oil. A gallon of diesel works a treat but its not recomended. Just incase theres any bits left lyingYup knew it’s not a good thing and haven’t put a magnet through it yet but there was no big chunks in it don’t know where it’s coming from though
It’s not really newish with 8k miles but I’ve put it all back together with a new filter and I’m going to run it for a little then drop it all and replaceIts not a good thing, but espescially when newish you always get a bit. 1000 miles agoWhen was the oil last changed? Might not be engine but gearbox.

WhyThat is more of a worry.
