They seem to be heading to banning wood burning, many places, because of the pollution.
In some places they are talking about banning oil and natural gas also.
Has somebody just woken up to the fact this will require more generation capacity and possible upgrade to infrastructure ?
give that another 4-5 years when the lights go out and they want to double your bill to pay for the urgent upgradesHas somebody just woken up to the fact this will require more generation capacity and possible upgrade to infrastructure ?
because it isnt easy.... you added to the total pollution with every second you are onlineWhy pollute when it's easily avoided.
Was there a relevance to that comment Mike.because it isnt easy.... you added to the total pollution with every second you are online
not for everyone, some are stuck with older, less efficient heating.... and i would probably have to resort to fly tipping if i couldn't burn my garden waste. Was there a relevance to that comment Mike.
I was talking about wood burning fires and bonfires and your talking about my internet usage...
How many properties that burn wood have another means of heating their property.
Any that do makes it an easily avoided emission.
It is in Scotland, its freezing up here.pretty much all home heating is unnecessary, as is hot water on demand.
Right o.not for everyone, some are stuck with older, less efficient heating.... and i would probably have to resort to fly tipping if i couldn't burn my garden waste.

Everything we do that uses energy that is not essential is unnecessary pollution, that includes watching tv, your mobile devices, browsing the internet, etc.
survived long enough without on demand heating in every room....It is in Scotland, its freezing up here.
I think old style heat was huge open fires kept alight 24/7, cooking and heating all in one problem solved! no standing charges, no stealth tax, no power cuts to worry about the perfect solutionsurvived long enough without on demand heating in every room....

I burn wood on a log fire (in the middle of nowhere) rather than burn oil through the boiler. The wood is all harvested from my own land and dried several years before burning. Currently the boiler is on for about an hour in the evening. I don't know which is more environmentally friendly overall. I have probably burnt four logs today and most of the house is warm. Was there a relevance to that comment Mike.

Why cant you compost your garden waste, or take it to the council tip, no need to burn it at all.not for everyone, some are stuck with older, less efficient heating.... and i would probably have to resort to fly tipping if i couldn't burn my garden waste.

You have no idea of the amount of woody waste I can generateWhy cant you compost your garden waste, or take it to the council tip, no need to burn it at all.
