If you find one please let me knowI'll look at any reliable news sources, but not media that peddle hate dressed up as news.
Why are they blaming the oil and gas companies? They are only fulfilling demand. Britain gets 60% or more of its electricity from gas. If renewables were so amazing we wouldn't need gas. This is why I keep banging on about nuclear!A long read but worth it

Revealed: the ‘carbon bombs’ set to trigger catastrophic climate breakdown
Exclusive: Oil and gas majors are planning scores of vast projects that threaten to shatter the 1.5C climate goal. If governments do not act, these firms will continue to cash in as the world burnswww.theguardian.com

I will try to find one.Any source for the 60% figure?
Probably because nuclear is too expensive?I will try to find one.
If wind and solar are so great why are they planning even more gas fired stations?

UK's gas power plans risk derailing climate targets, thinktank says
Household bills also likely to rise if 17 plants proposed are built, according to CarbonTracker reportwww.theguardian.com
No that was announced before the gas prices went nuts. Rolls Royce are promising £40 per mw/h from their SMRs. And remember they will be commercially run. The cost of under £2 billion per unit brings them into the commercial sector rather than state infrastructure which will always be more efficient. Even Amazon are thinking of buying themProbably because nuclear is too expensive?![]()
£40-£60 per Mwh - which end of that scale are you expectingNo that was announced before the gas prices went nuts. Rolls Royce are promising £40 per mw/h from their SMRs. Well the solution is this simple .. severely reduce YOUR energy consumption.
If you can’t, stop complaining about companies trying to meet your energy demands, accept you are as intrinsic a part of the problem as they are
How far can you go though? I used to use 100 watt lightbulbs. Now I use 11 watt low energy and 10 watt LED in the kitchen. Our fridge freezer probably used a quarter of the power it would have done 20 years ago, likewise the tv. The only thing I can't do anything about is the heating, although the loft is insulated well. It's just a sixties built prefab and there's nothing I can do about it. I dread this winter's electric bill. The only possible thing I could do is build a porch front and back, which would have a big impact on my bills, but is sadly beyond my means, as I suspect it is for many others.Well the solution is this simple .. severely reduce YOUR energy consumption.

How serious do you take this ? You don’t NEED gas or electricity, central heating or a motor vehicle …How far can you go though? I used to use 100 watt lightbulbs. Yes life would be more inconvenient and less fu
Really? I could happily live off the grid. I build wood fired cookers for other people, so heat is easy, I could rig up a couple of solar panels to provide 12 volt lighting and enough extra for a marine fridge and entertainment, no problem at all. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to do that. Our landlord banned solid fuel and installed a useless air source heat pump and they'd have something to say if I added a 12 volt ring to the house. Some things I can live without, but heating of some description isn't one of them. I've set the heat pump so it basically doesn't heat anything and we heat the living room with bursts from a fan heater. Everyone needs heat. How serious do you take this ? What many people don't realise is that the waste energy from lights and fridges etc is heat. For 9 months of the year in Britain that heat is quite welcome in a house! How far can you go though?
