Would be neater to fit the consumer unit in place of the isolator. What's going to/from the isolator at the moment? I see three cables, which look like SWA from the consumer unit, then ring out for the sockets? If so and if the SWA is continuous you don't need an RCD at the supply end so could either have an RCD main switch in the garage consumer unit, or separate RCBOs for the two final circuits. How big's the SWA?

Would be neater to replace the switch, hadn't thought of that, I have a single consumer unit already that only needs a 16A MCB to allow the 16A welder to be used. It also has a DP isolator switch. If I wire the 16A out via the MCB, the t&a circuits can come through the DP switch only as the SWA feeds the garage from an RCD.
