Good point. I'm not holding Asda responsible for the death of my dog. That's not the issue. The fact that the contents can be hidden in a UFI which is a secret ingredients code is of concern. I mean wtf?
I need to know for sure that ASD706 was the culprit. Won't rest until I do.
My MP is pretty good (Plaid Cymru). Has been on previous issues..Openreach, BT and others.

Halfords put something called bitrex in there screen wash so children and pets can’t drink it.

They might not need to add bitrex if they didn't make it smell like a fruit drink in the first place.

Was the spill beer-coloured? If so, could the leaking screenwash have dissolved something else that was not very nice?

Lager is clear. But certainly smelled like beer. I think it must have reconstituted the many previous dried spills. The cans are apparently 0.1mm thick. Handle them a bit rough and pop. The fact that it's happened often previously threw me off track.

No I would have to write ....after finding the correct dept...etc etc..I'll leave it to my MP now.

I understand what you're saying. The fact that Asda are supplying something that has no available MSDS sheet available and maybe has insufficient warning labels was the point I was suggesting complaining about. Plus then when you ring an emergency number to potentially get urgent help, there's no answer!
I'm not suggesting for one minute that your dog is less important than a human being but imagine if this same scenario were to happen to a young child. The parent finds them drinking a bottle of screenwash and calls 999 etc. The medics can't find out what's in it as there's no warning labels or MSDS sheet available and no-one on the emergency number answers the phone etc.

Our Sky came with arthritis, a hip problem, incontinence and dermatitis, while her brother Blue was the picture of health, a typical big handsome GSD. They were from Hillbrae dog rescue, who were totally forthcoming about her health issues.

Everybody wanted to adopt Blue, on his own, but the two were not to be separated, that was a rule made by the kennels. So we had them both.

Blue died of cancer after 2 years with us, but Sky is still going strong, 11 years old now.

Nice to know they were upfront with history. Sorry to hear about Blue. Goes to show...luck of the draw? My daughter's dog had been re-homed 4 times. The medical history (hip) wasn't divulged under confidentiality terms. I think he wasn't fed properly as a pup. He wasn't very sociable and certainly not with other dogs. My Benji socialised him. Even a farmer down in Devon who was not a dog lover at all, recognised the fact and rercommend to others to introduce their problem dogs to him.
He certainly had his bad side.Postman....demented behaviour and car journeys over excited slavering. Playfully refusing to handover the ball was another irritating trick. Leave? No way. Spoilt animal I'm happy to say.

My daughters husky had had 3 new homes before he got to her. He's a lovely loving affectionate 4 year old, but very lively on the lead, and a runner if the door is a gap is left when the door is opened. I chased him around our village a few months ago, nearly killed me.

He is chipped, and was registered in Glasgow. Not reported stolen, so I assume they sold him or gave him away as she bought him for £50 in Nottingham, from a newspaper advert.

I'm in the countryside, but 200 yards from a fairly busy main road. And guess where doggo headed...
Some woman in a van nicely crossed the road, forced other cars to stop, then herded the little b'stard into a side street with her van. I got hold of him but she had left before I could even wave a thank you.

Antifreeze is naturally sweet tasting. Most animals will try to drink it without a bittering agent.
Screenwash is generally methanol/ethanol or isoproypl alcohol based - so then you need a bittering agent to stop the alcoholics drinking that too.
Either way it won't stop a persistent pet or child drinking it, it's there to discourage just in case. The reality is they should never have access to it.

Entirely agree.....just can't find out if this all seasons screenwash has anything like that in it. Why is that?
My MP has referred me back to the council web site...environmental health has just this minute transferred the call to Trading standards which is exactly where I was a day or so ago. They will give impartial advice on how to take a private legal action.
No-one has said to me "We'll look into it" "That isn't right" "We'll investigate" "The data sheet for ASD706 here" ...etc...etc....
It has to be someone other than Asda....It'd be like asking Putin why he invaded Ukraine. Honestly?

And you wont get the correct data sheet unless you ask the supplier for it. Which in this case is ASDA.

Tetrasol used to be ASDA's supplier, and if I'm looking at the right datasheet there's a small trace amount of Butyl Glycol too but it's tiny amounts:

But even on an MSDS - what's toxic for dogs and cats isn't necessarily the same for us so might not be listed anyway, same as with chocolate, grapes, etc.
