I think the proportions look right any longer look silly shorter not much use
Cheers it came out looking better than id hoped I have seen some naff looking ones either too wide or low. I wanted full suspension travel but as low as possibleOh you've done a brilliant job - perhapds just another 12" and a small hiab. at rhe back of the cab..![]()

Under tray lockers next for ratchet straps?soi many more place to tie stuff done, so trick with the original body
theres a captive pin that slides across the back and they pull out easy, i wanted a flat back too as can be useful. Also the caps on the top pull out and i milled some short scaffold poles dowd that slide in so i can carry my Canadian canoe on top@dieselsamurai how are those corner posts held on / can they be removed quickly?
The bed on my 6x6 the corner posts drop into some angle and then the sides and tailgate have an over centre catch which clamps everything down far better than the Ifor Williams style.
Pickups are prone to snapping, now I know why!Ah interesting , how about 1 1/2 tonnes of concrete blocks i miscalculated but she took it like a champ steering was very light
wasnt on the bumpstops

I was referring to the scaffold tower...Ah interesting , how about 1 1/2 tonnes of concrete blocks i miscalculated but she took it like a champ steering was very light![]()
Thats a light load compared to how they get abused in other countries , they are rated for 1ton I wouldnt do it again as that was before i welded the chassis which is how this thread startedPickups are prone to snapping, now I know why!
So what class Mot is that ? My Chevy K30 is just under 3 ton empty so effectively can only carry 1/2 ton but is a 1 1/2 ton truck the rear axle is rated for 7500lbs but is class 7 MOT and i never put over 1/2 ton in itI was referring to the scaffold tower...
A Bridgeport on the back means there's actually some suspension. Think this was circa 3.5t - she's rated for 2t on the back. Wasn't on the bump stops...
