i just changed the large hub side boot on out car with a jubily clip. id rather it not come off on full lock using one instead of a tie wrap even at 120mph u dont get imballance. not that ive been more than 70mph mindCheers lads.
As rtb says i would have been worried about the balance as well.
Cable ties as in the plastic ones?
Are they strong enough?

It is my belief that one day EVERYTHING will have become held together with tie wraps![]()
The garage that fitted the exhaust to my Volvo is of the same opinion, the MOT tester wasn't

the tester at the station gave me a verry narrow jubilee clipYou would have to watch using a jubilee clip on the hub end as quite a few cars now dont have enough clearance for something that big. I have even had some with so little clearance that a cable tie would not fit.
Oddly I have been replacing a CV boot today on a Rover 25.
Cheated used a split boot. Makes it a nice quick job & they last much longer now than they used to.
I own a little microcar and there is not enough Clearance to fit a jubilee clip or even a cable tie.Would there be any problems securing the small end of a cv boot with a jubilee clip?
Didnt it melt and hit the floor?
a mate used a ratchet strap(get me home fix) when his exhaust bracket broke a mile later and it did it again as it meltedhe ended up using wire from a farmers fence. Got him back luckily!
I had to use the correct oetiker clip, they need a special tool to crimp, but I used some carpenter pincers and they worked a treat
