I got a Femi 780xl bandsaw recently (direct from Italy ), saved about £50. It cuts straight and it’s maybe half to two thirds the weight of my Evo 355 cold cut saw, and as mentioned is a lot quieter. So it’s a lot more portable and a lot less sweeping up after as the chips don’t go everywhere.
The metal cut blade on the Evo produces a finish like glass, the only thing is on small parts it tends to pull the last mm or two sometimes, as well as not being absolutely 90deg. It’s not easy to adjust that either, you end up trying to angle the workpiece in the vice. It’s main advantage is the speed, it’s much quicker than the bandsaw. I can also use it for wood with another blade which has been handy though messy!
The Evo chipped some teeth so needs a new blade at £80odd, so thought I would try the bandsaw. If I were only going to need to cut metal parts I’d have gone for that straight off now, due to less noise and mess and easier to move about, with about the same footprint.
I also use the grinder with 1mm disc for anything quick if the straightness isn’t so crucial.

Do you have a saw doctor place near you? They can replace damaged blades/lost teeth cheaper than replacing.

I bought the Scheppach portable bandsaw, with its own base. Spent a bit of time trying to get the blade in place, and learned a few more sweary words at the same time.

It will live under a bench and only come out when needed, and although I’ve only used it 3-4 times in the last couple of days, I am definitely impressed. A lot quieter, and a very nice cut, I’m pleased to say. I like the idea of being able to use it ‘free hand’ if necessary too.

Having done a search on here, I found a thread on this bandsaw (sorry, forgot who), and the criticism was the vice setup did not grip well. I have to agree with this for small diameter metal, in that it takes a bit of faffing about to get it to grip properly. Otherwise, in my capacity as a newbie metal cutter, I have nothing to say against it.

You can always knock up some vice inserts for gripping fiddly rounds. Even some wooden inserts with V notch or a suitable size hole (cut in half) would help.

That looks identical to the Aldi Workzone one I have which has developed a clunking blade join to be looked at later
