Bollx to the neighbor's....Meanwhile back at the ranch.
I saw this, and it’s obviously not top quality, but might keep the neighbours happy noise wise.

How many hundreds of times I've said that, love it.
This option seems quite under-representedThe aldi bandsaw is great for small space, mine lives under the lathe bench and move it outside to use.
I'm still "on the fence" regarding a bandsaw, the common 100/150 capacity as sold by clarke/draper/dirtytools etc is a bit big for my space but I found this one at Warco It's in between the aldi and clarke for capacity and size, it is maybe worth a look!
Yeah, but the quoted cutting capacities are different so though it was worth a mention. That looks like the Chester one, only the Chester one is £70 cheaper
I suspect they are the same machine, only one has been more careful in the descriptionYeah, but the quoted cutting capacities are different so though it was worth a mention.

When cutting round stock for the lathe (up to 50mm diameter), I use an Evolution Rage chop saw, and I love it, but my abuse has blunted the blade, so am ordering a couple of new ones, of course. I originally used a Lidle ‘special’ grinding blade chop saw, but it is scary sparkly when using it, so it doesn’t get used much (coward at heart, me).
Conclusion, maybe I should be thinking of an alternative. I do not have room for a decent powered hacksaw (although now I think of it, it could live in the hut porch, if kept covered). Also, it would have to be the smallest available (Small porch). This has led me to consider buying one of those portable bandsaws, complete with stand.
Any advice on what might be the best approach to take? Invest in a Clarke/Axminster powered hacksaw, or the cheaper portable bandsaw.
Remember, cost, and space are the key for me, also we are not talking huge amount of use.
Well, as we are inevitably going into full lockdown and I need to cut lots of tube for a project I just went to Chester hobby tool this morning to get a h80b saw (£175).
I'll post some details if you are interested?
