Cross slide and saddle work today. I decided to clean out the boltholes the travelling steady fixes into since I have one coming and oh joy, they were filled to the brim with swarf, sawdust, dried oil and coolant too. It took a lot of digging out and then flushing with turps to get them to some sort of presentable state.
I then worked on the saddle ends, stripping the paint on the end where the steady fixes. This is now in primer awaiting topcoat. I thought I cleaned this when I got the lathe but it seems I didn’t, perhaps I just cleared the sawdust... it’s in a right old state nonetheless, but everything can and will be cleaned
