I don't get all of the Evans hate, maybe its a generational thing, I have fond memories of Don't forget your toothbrush, TFI Friday he was the main man when I was in my late teens, early 20's.

I grew up with John Noakes and The Goodies so Simon thingy and 'alternative comedians' just weren't the same. If you don't like someone's style that's it - and the ginger t****r does get on a lot of folks' nerves. You like him, that's your choice but it'll be interesting to see what the viewing public think.
I seem to recall when Evans bought into Virgin the first thing he did was sack the breakfast presenters who used to take the mick out of him. Now granted they weren't all that good but it did smack of a revenge killing; hard to have respect for someone who'd behave like that.

At least that will be the end of the tiresome "drifting" (cut shot when the tozzer overcooks it) sequences.

I never did get that; what were they trying to show, the fact that enough torque (in a 500BHP car, usually) can overcome the tyres' ability to grip? So what, I can do that in the company van FFS
It wouldn't be so bad if lighting up the tyres and doing donuts in public actually got you anything (like, say, a shag) other than a Section 59 notice for being a tool.

Classics. Mentioned John Noakes the other day to our Gert, and she had no clue who he was. She's the same age as me! Ended up having to say that it was the bloke with Shep before she twigged who he was. What happened to the other two Goodies, btw? Only ever see the bearded twitcher, (can't recall his name offhand), these days.

Edit: Just remembered his name. Bill Oddie.

I think a lot of viewers have already made there mind up simply because it's not Clarkson. Anyone who took the job would have a up hill battle with atleast 50% of the existing viewers.

Guess time will tell eh.

Graham Norton is meant to be giving up his chat show, he'll be looking for a new challenge. He could co host and do a section on camp ervans!

I think Graham Garden and Tim Brooke-Taylor still do radio programmes for Aunty Beeb.

They are both (along with Barry Cryer) regulars on the absolutely awesome "I'm sorry I haven't a clue" that normally has one or two six-week runs each year on Radio 4.
It was previously hosted by the unbeatable Humphrey Littleton, but Jack Dee has done a fantastic job of filling his shoes.

I have actually met Barry Crier, In the "green room" at the BeeeB, My first mother in law and her son were the winners on one of Brucies Generation game Christmas shows, Won loads of stuff from the conveyer belt!! Had a drink and nibbles with the celebs afterwards, Shook hands with most of them,when Anthea aproached I manage to "stick the lips" on her for a second or two, (Id like to believed she went all dreamy eyed, but I don't think so)
