Not any more. Clarkson, and producer Andy Wilman, founded "Bedder 6" which owned the rights to Top Gear. The BBC bought 51% of the shares several years back and then acquired the rest of the company in 2013 (background).
So Clarkson and Wilman are free and clear. What this means, I suspect, is that they will be able to do it all over again, create a new company with a subtly different format, and sell it to (most likely) Netflix. Good work if you can get it
I'd watch Clarkson, Hammond and May all day long before I'd watch Chris Evans and Jodie Kidd, though
Yeah, I didn't know that but it points a similar way. Clarkson? a parody these days a predictable one. IMO the best TV ever would have been if the victim of the attack had kicked his Butt and they showed it on air, pity he picked a soft target shows the measure of the man hitting someone over this guys his size cant go punching people over this sort of stuff especially if they can hit right or you can end up with a murder / manslaughter charge
If an MP did this out on the campaign trail he would be lambasted yet Clarkson gets to look like a mans man but in all honesty he sounds like a spoil coward and a bully

I have to agree, thumping someone over something so trivial as a missed meal is unacceptable, its not victorian times after all. Clarkson making un-pc comments about other countries and individuals was one thing, but ranting, raving and finally assaulting someone is the act of a spoilt child.

Chris Evans was on the radio the other day going on about Guy Martin as it had been suggested he could be a co-presenter, Evans didn't rubbish the idea and said would he be up for doing it who knows

I just can't see Guy Martin being a presenter on something like this. As discussed on a similar thread, he just isn't "chatty" enough or voluble enough to just talk in front of a camera.
Much as I enjoyed his Speed programmes you could almost sense that he realised he had forgotten to say anything for a few minutes.

Guy has already said he hates presenting tv programmes, so i doubt he would accept an offer from top gear. If he did though it would indicate that bikes might be covered for once on that show, as clarkson hated motorcycles.

I think Guy would be a great bloke to have as a "we heard about this insane new motorbike, so we sent our resident nutcase Guy Martin along to try it" sort of bloke, doing odd features where he can just get stuck in and do stuff without having to be too presentery. After all, the Stig doesn't say much, does he?

I fully agree. The only problem is there is nothing else less irritating on in the morning (except radio 4 but 'er won't have it).
Guy Martin would be interesting and I'd like to see him do something on the programme but I wouldn't want him to do it if he wasn't enjoying it - the best part of the Speed programme was his enthusiasm.
I don't think a bike section on Top Gear would work particularly well - the majority of bikers like a decent car but most drivers just think bikes are buzzy little things that pass them in traffic.

The only time I listen to any great amount of radio is when Sunday Love Songs is presented by that other long-running t0553r of British radio... well you know who I mean... and the ONLY reason I do so is it can put Nursy 'in the mood'
At work we used to have a guy who made it his first task of the day to turn a radio on; when he left nobody else bothered and since we moved premises there isn't even a radio in the building... thank god.

I thought it was just me! Someone in the office I worked in used to keep turning a radio on, it used to drive me up the wall. How people work in these factories with the music blaring all day. Don't get me started about music in shops. I went round the shopping mall in Gloucester & every shop had music blaring away, I don't mind quiet background, but loud. One shop had silence. I said to the assistant "peace at last" he said "the systems broke, if my boss came in & the music was off I would be sacked on the spot" leave it broke was my retort.

You're not taking into consideration how fickle most people are though. Show them a bike on a programme with a presenter they know, and I'd guarantee bike sales would increase. Most people have to have the in thing or keep up with their mates or neighbours, these days.

I don't get what the issue is, Clarksons approach to presenting was becoming tedious and old hat. A lot of the jokes were scripted. Maybe it was time for a change. I don't get all of the Evans hate, maybe its a generational thing, I have fond memories of Don't forget your toothbrush, TFI Friday he was the main man when I was in my late teens, early 20's. He obviously loves his cars. Give the guy a chance.
