Caroline ?My lad had loads of kit. He was also a Radio Ham and they used to send stuff over the waves to a printer. Im not exactly sure what they were, sort of calling cards with their number on etc.
I had to take him to somewhere near Mablethorpe to sit an exam.......Radio something.........there were a few there, all about 50 years older than him.
ive even just pulled the coax back off the aerial and tested for continuity and its good, so apparently the airwaves up here are deadPL 259 plugged in![]()

kayos you are a bad man, starting this thread bringing all this nostalgic CB lark back upfirst I had to find the magmount and when i did the whip was missing then search through the loft for CB's mic and power supply then onto hunt the whip, which I eventually found behind a pair of subs after moving other pa speakers guitar and bass amps and a set of drums, then had to rewire aerial then rewire power lead into CB only to find there was not a soul to be heard over 240 channels, you've wasted my time

Alternatively, do what I did.
Take exams, be allowed to make your own radio kit up to 400w on frequencies people actually use![]()
