Sounds like the thermal cutout is operating. After it stops do you get a clicking sound from within the unit when you pull the trigger?
I will only be using it for carrying Fiestas and small cars as such.I was watching that one on ebay
What car are you planning on transporting? The gross on that will probably be about 900kg
The machine stays on with the fan continually on and after a while I,ll try the trigger and it starts feeding the wire through again, the longer I leave it to cool the more welding time I get,Just wanting to know if this is norm as I have only ever done light stuff before with no probs. The SIP I don't know, but I'd expect it to cut out after an hour (or less) on the kind of amperages you're likely to be using. Small machines tend to have a relatively low duty cycle, especially toward the top end.
Does the whole machine -- as it were -- cut off or just the wire feed? My old mini mig used to get progressively noisier until it would finally cut out.

A defo thermal cut out due to plant over heating, this is normal, it is there to prevent permanent damage to plant, there is nothing to worry about, I have my MMA plant at hand, when mig trips out, go to MMA till mig cools down, prevents frustration and, helps with productivity!
I don't want to worry you but didn't someone metion in a caravan thread a couple of weeks ago that Peak trailers tend to jump off the tow hitch?

Have you boxed the original chassis???
I will maybe do that later onYou can tripple the strength of a "C" section chassis by simply boxing it with flat bar..
Maybe a little late but worth considering????????
