Interesting thread, a quick question if any experts have an opinion please.. when fabricating little fittings in copper, it hardens and I often anneal the work by heating it red then putting it in cold water.
I have replaced a brake line in my car (old Vauxhall Astra, rear subframe rigid brake pipe) with copper.
Would annealing the brake pipe where it's flared (by hand tool) prevent any future stress fracture?
