That is a great idea too but the bit that pokes out with the threads and nut that hold the arm can still be bent easier being softer material

Me personally I would rather a bent shaft than a broken shaft.

I only assumed you wanted them made was due to wear

The plastic/nylon bushes wear quick and do not last long when you add to the equation bigger wheels and tyres, the bending probably occurs partly as a result of the worn bushes, but also due to a beating off road! Why not upgrade them to something more substantial that will last longer and be more reliable.
These upgraded ones have been made in the usa and are probably tried and tested.

I will have to take a new idler apart and measure the bushes inside mate, No point in measuring the broken one they have worn and it is also a different brand

You could just buy the bushes + oil seal from a bearing supplier.

I've an oil lite bushing list with measurements against part numbers for each size, both plain and top hat type.

Looking at the pictures in post 35 the bearings and thrust washer appear to be plastic.

Picture in post 1 shows oil lite type bearings, so possibly a rebuild kit?

The idler shaft will be only available in a rebuild kit or complete unit which I suspect either is some what expensive?

Also being as the part is made in Japan, it may not be easily available or waiting time could be a factor, I once had to wait 8 weeks for a water pump for my FJ40 Land Cruiser.
