Have you thought of using button heads instead of capheads to fix the headlamp?, thought it looked a bit neater when I did mine.

Matching washers around the headlamp bolts would look stylish and carry the theme over.

Yeah spot on Benelli Mojave style...............
The originals are like rocking horse poop, and they go for silly money if they show up. This is/was an Indian import. although a very, very rough canvas..............
They did a better job than I could do from scratch, but I had to grind all the seams back 10mm all round, reweld and dress back as there were leaks all over it, remove several dents, even up the shape as it was a bit asymmetrical, add some additional sheet metal at the seat interface and around the tunnel front, weld in a new filler neck.........
Its swallowed up more time than anything else on the build
Would I buy another............................erm........... no!!!

I knew they could be a bit iffy and needed mods to fit but that sounds a bit much! Although I've noticed the prices seem to have come down a lot over the last year mmm do I or don't I?

If you do get one, I'd go for a painted one as you'd have to assume its leak free and a fairly decent finish??? You could always re-spray as required......

subliminal thoughts
my original choice was yellow with the black/white speed blocks, but I pulled out at the last-minute. Red was a safer choice, but now I'm glad its gone all Blue.................which was a last-second choice. The painter had a tank in the shop he'd just done, I only spotted it on the way out

Reading this has actually promted me into a bit of action on my bike after a bit of a lull.
The wheels have been taken to the wheel builder for new alloy rims and stainless spokes
(a complicated job on the rear due to shaft drive , different hub, offset etc) I didn't want to bugger it up myself as it may need purpose made spokes.
Seat is coming from father Christmas via Thailand....
One question if you can answer for me is how did you get the finish on the crankcase and barrels / heads?
I'm after a natural finish in the cases and side covers and black on the barrels but don't want to strip down the motor, did you do it as a whole lump?
I've got media blasting gear that will do the job with a bit of time but don't want to go in gung ho and make a mess....

I made various bungs and plugs for the holes and what not, then dry blasted it all. Primer, masked, then sprayed with the appropriate engine paint. The engine is a runner, and so I didn't want to strip it down completely. If you want the natural finish you'd probably have to vapour blast, but any sort of oil/grease will leave a stain I reckon. At least with the paint it can be wiped off.
I used the https://www.vhtpaint.com/index.jsp paints, they are a bit more expensive, but the finish and covering power are the best I've used...
