780kgBeen looking on the net can't seem to find the dimensions of the harrison
precisely id rather buy one that looks a bit mucky and hasnt been painted as long as its in good condition best do an inspection before you buy .some peopled description of good condition and just renovated means it was knacked and just paintedBoth have been painted which I would always be dubious about. perhaps there is a kind hearted forum member nearby to the seller who could give them a look at and help to form an opinion of their true condition. A painted-up worn out lathe is no better than a worn lathe.
May be a bit on the large side for the space I have now780kg
About 7 foot long. Three foot deep including all handles, coolant tank and the motor hanging off the back. 2 foot if you remove the forward/reverse lever and the motor etc.
U can come play with my Boxford if you like mr cheesieI did think that at the time the school boy in me was itching to type I'd love to see the lathe but you can play with your own harrison
Might be a bit shorter than 7ft, maybe 6 foot.May be a bit on the large side for the space I have now
Just my two pennorth! with a SC gearbox, you can only cut the threads in the gearbox...
Both machines are from england I've got to Monday to decide waiting on a few more quotes for delivery, the Boxford is a handy size and cheaper to get here etc but the harrison is a more substantial lathe withWhich supplier are you using? Is it the guy in the Ards area?
Have you tried Kenequip/ Harrison brothers in Longford?
https://www.kenequip.com/
Got a good reputation & have a good selection of used machinery plus parts backup if it goes wrong.
Harrison top speed is 750rpm is this a limiting factor
