If you haven't printed that STL yet then don't, one issue at least.
Woke up this morning to the finished print, black not the best colour for photos:
The battery clip came off when removing the supports. That's I just think as it was a lightweight test print with minimal infill. I might however thicken it up a bit by say 3mm on the outside edge.
Main issue is it doesn't fit anymore! I thickened up a bolt boss, increasing the diameter but didn't twig it would clash with part of the original, yellow top:
Thin yellow bit where my finger is hits the bit where my thumb is:
A minor fix tbh. I'll sort tonight.

Some little changes. On the Ferrex tools there's a little rectangular bit sticks up, that engages with the battery. Also 2 T slots for rubbers that grip the battery:
To simplify / speed up the printing we've ditched those. Also made the two domed nipples (for the M3 heat inserts) into cylinders. I've as well, thickened the sections that lock round the battery.
Now in print, slower this time on the "glossier is stronger" basis.

Fought my way into the garage and found the bench / vice and my tin snips etc. Knocked up a couple more accurate U's out of 9x1 copper strip by bending / beating around some 5mm plate.

More progress but we're not there yet!
A slower PETG print last night and the quality is better.
It pains me that the battery is imo a tad too far forward, as in to the left:
To move it backwards and keep the simple copper U's, I'd have to mess around with the tower:
The underside. Again a lightly infilled print but I reckon the section that wraps around the Ferrex battery is vulnerable to shearing off. Plan is to extend this piece to encompass what were nipples, now cylinders at the back for the screws. Yes a bit more material but with the heat inserts the case screws should keep that bit on. Will also bring out / level off around the central screws which will again help.
Gratuitous shot of the printed clips and cut down pen springs:
What else...introduce some holes or push buttons so the battery clips can be released. Sort a wedge or block to hold the battery blades in place. Then the slot the (grey) battery clip springs up into needs work. Didn't notice before as the empty Ferrex battery shell is missing it's spring. As it stands I don't think they'll engage. Easy fix with the EXTRUDE command.

As the boredom is kicking in on this one now, when the battery engaging section sheared off of the lightweight print I got to thinking...
