Absolutely agree, what were they thinking putting parabolic springs on it? The ride height looked ridiculous and it seemed higher at the back than the front. Why did they need to get it blasted to discover that the chassis and bulkhead were beyond repair, or was there a VIP lane/jobs for the boys, looking for a favour?Looked OK in the end but I've never seen rear springs like that on an original series 1, and I've seen a few.

bloke Jay Blades off 'The Repair Shop', whose only recognisable skill seems to be self promotion.
I can totally believe this. On some of the restos it's obvious that a full body respray isn't really necessary and will push the cost far beyond what the car will ever be worth. They do it anyway. I'd love to know which car you are talking about but appreciate you can't say.I have to be discreet here, but one of the vehicles I know about and know who repaired it. The team got shafted royally with bull and unnecessary work.
Dunno...but if you're going to go bankrupt I couldn't think of a better way flying round the country chasing rare carsDidn’t he go bankrupt?

" most of the younguns nowadays have" got more sense than to "rebuild and own one"i watched one of there programs and they did a car up and reckoned it owed them 45 grand. think it sold for about 27 doing them up for proffit is a looser for a business its a labour of love . most of the cars they sell for folk fetch less than they think its worth . most of the younguns nowadays havent got the gear or the incination or interest to rebuild and own one
and wouldnt have the skills or a clue how to repair anything" most of the younguns nowadays have" got more sense than to "rebuild and own one"
There is absolutely no money in buying, restoring properly and selling a classic.
There is money being paid to restore a customers classic though.
I can see it, but I won't say it...
I'd finish that plastering job before putting any furniture in there...

I notice the the pattern could be “misconstrued “ for want of a better expressionIt is interesting that nobody has made any comment such as those currently circulating on Facebook.
You saying it’s a bit gash?I notice the the pattern could be “misconstrued “ for want of a better expression
It took me 450 hours to restore the cooperS I put a thread up on here that equated to nearly £29k in labour alone.
