My place had one, that I agreed to help the upkeep of the organ in the church in a nearby village. It had been agreed to when the land was sold for building 30 years ago. My solicitor bought indemnity insurance so I’d not have to actually pay anything, ever. I think it cost £35 or thereabouts.Covenants can still cause problems in conveyancing, if a lender is involved they can insist in an indemnity insurance, that said it’s normally a small one off payment. Had them on the last place I sold and the one off payment was about 2k.
