One of the advantages of Land Rovers is you don't need a jack to work under them due to their ground clearance
It's the same with our Syncro van - there's a lot that can be done just by parking the van with a couple of the wheels raised up 100mm on something like a kerb or a couple of paving slabs. For stuff that needs a wheel off the weight gets transferred to a proper jackstand and I chuck a wheel underneath as others have suggested. I always chock the van when I'm working on it.
