Busy day today:
New engine out the packing case -
Engine crane essential for the 217 Kg outboard as my brother applies sealant to the bolt shanks -
New engine torqued onto the transom -
It looks faster never mind only an extra 10 hp over the old engine -
Still needs a coat of polish -
The retaining nuts for the new instruments needed turning down, first time I have used the lathe for weeks (mainly not up to it post chemo) -
Quite difficult getting enough grip on the part without breaking it, but managed to do the two off them -
New instruments were identical size to the old ones which saved some time -
I have left my brother painting the deck, will fit the controls and start on the rewiring tomorrow, just happy to have the new engine fitted.
Glad the engine was ordered in December, now gone up £1000 in price
