The 55 Matchless in my AvatarWhat's the bike on the left at the back (propping up the pushbike) ?
Once its moving youve hopefully got it free. Dont do what a druend of mine did. Batter away, then break the fin when it hit the deck.Started attempting to get the seized lower leg off the old engine before fitting the new engine. So I made up a wood and sheet metal tool so that I can give it a good welly with the club hammer. The driveshaft is seized on the splines but it has started to move.

Scheduled to start inpatient chemo on Monday, so getting what I can done before I go in.
i thought of that and have some wood under the lowest part of the engine. although it is moving, it is still tight - it is quite a long spline:Once its moving youve hopefully got it free. Dont do what a druend of mine did. Batter away, then break the fin when it hit the deck.
I may have forgotten to grease it! I fitted a new impellor 5 or 6 years ago then when I next tried to split the leg I could not get it to move, I suspect it has corroded on.Are the splines deformed or was it just assembled dry.
