Advice On Lifting 215Kg Heavy Item Onto Mobile Base Pt 1.

I want to get my table saw, which has a cast iron bed weighs 215Kg onto a Clarke mobile base

Having had previous experience with Clarke items are you sure the 'mobile base' is strong enough to carry 215kg safely? Remember that's the weight of 3 adults!

That struck me too. I couldn't see a mobile base for a saw on the MM site, unless you mean the Clarke CDT2 Interlocking Dolly Platform. but you'd needs at least 3 of those.

Shouldn't he be making up with the wife on the machine he's just uprighted in a very manly fashion?

My concern is that if the op can't figure this one out without posting 40 screenshots from a video of them trying to right the thing, are they safe enough to use said table saw without cutting their digits off?

Perhaps concern is the wrong word, I don't know them from Adam, but you get where I'm coming from...

I think it was on its side so the ancilliaries could be attached. It's in the kitchen because that is his workshop. its to make new doors and windows.

Yes, is rated for 230kg.

I have an engine crane. I purchased it for one single job, thinking i would never need it again....

...and ive been very surprised at how often it has actually been used. Even for things like lifting items on and off of trailers (you can generally move stuff fine when its on the ground)

Im not even a million miles from you, but the crane is not here at the moment, so that's no good for you.

Mine was just an ebay 'made in china' thing, but it has not broken yet (i think ive had it about 4 yrs)

Yes, I'm thinking would come in handy for moving various things. Make life easier shifting the woodburner, repositioning the lathe.

As Kent and others have said, you're making this hard work for no reason. Good old arm power wins out every time. I've lifted and moved no end of heavy gear on my tod, without any help whatsoever. Most lifting and moving requires nothing more than a bit of gumption coupled with an extra pair of hands or two if needed. Pieces of wood placed underneath as you stand it upright will aid getting the trolley underneath. End of the day, 500lb or so isn't a massive amount of weight, and you're only pivoting it, not lifting it outright.

whats wrong? two big blokes or four wimps. Look at my thread fixture bench in projects 4 blokes hand lifted that plate off a flat-back and brought it into the shop, then I put it on top on my own with a little bottle jack and a few skids (after turning the leg set over and off the plate). I think the plate calculated over double what your talking
Your biggest issue is the floor isn't designed to hold those weights unless its solid

Another thing to remember is that you have a damn sight more strength in your legs than you do in your arms. A squatting position with arms and back dead straight will allow you to use your legs to full effect when hoiking it upright. Make sure you have someone on the other side of it if possible too, as once you get past the point where the weight of the machine itself starts to carry it forward, that can be far more awkward, (or amusing, if you're a spectator ), than the lifting itself. It will try to throw you over if you allow it to gain any notable momentum, so have someone there just to hold it and steady its pace, if possible, else just counter for the fact that it will happen if you're alone, by slowing your pace and arresting its movement, once you get to the point where you feel it becoming light.
