Will attach more screenshots in message Pt 2
I'm asking here rather than a woodworking forum. As I though the people here would have more experience with heavy machinery.
I want to get my table saw, which has a cast iron bed weighs 215Kg onto a Clarke mobile base.
Yesterday, I started to assemble the table saw, took ply sides off crate and left sitting on pallet as per manual instructions, put the legs and sides on and extension mount.
The general idea was to safely and carefully raise the saw up high enough on blocks, then use a stout bit of timber or scaffold pole to pivot and put on feet.
Though, thinking about it, thought it could come down with quite a crash, that wouldn't be good for the mechanics of saw.
...... So decided not to try to do that.
As the feet were resting on loose carpet tiles, these would slip and after several failed attempts. The feet if pivoted to ground, if had up ended it might have gone into fridge and drawer of kitchen draws. Thought might be able to put scaffold pole under to raise bottom above spindle protruding from
mechanism on bottom of side panel facing floor. Then contrive some way to use my red pipe clamp sections, then roll it back .
Decided to leave it as it is, don't want to move it only to find I have to move it again to get engine hoist to it.
Was thinking of hiring an engine hoist to lift saw up. When looked at hire prices,..... thought again. Two day hire from one place was £72 think that was inc vat.
Bought a brand new 1 ton hoist for £97.97 best price on Ebay buy now inc delivery.
I've included a few screenshots so can see how saw has been left at the moment. What would be the best, safest way to lift it upright without damaging any part of it.
Then upright, how to lift up onto mobile base. During my little bit of research saw there are various types of slings. If this is the way to go, which type/s should I get.
Mega cheers.
