I've had vehicles recovered with suspected lift pump failures, which turned out to be lack of fuel due to the sender units being faulty.

I've also had vehicles recovered in diagnosed with in-tank pump failed. I did ask one recovery guy how can something that's not fitted fail?

I have had this on more than one occasion.

As I get older - I know realise - "you are wasting you breath" - even challenging these peoples "thought process".

All of this is making me realise that I'll never be able to give up repairing my and my families vehicles myself and there I was, looking forward to an easy retirement doing what I wanted to do
I did take one vehicle into a local old fashioned one man band garage that had been handed down from father to son. It was to get a CV boot changed when I couldn't get the car under cover and it was pi$$ing down with rain. I was very happy to pay to avoid that job
