I've just measured the angle of the old stairs. 54° !

Does the footprint match the existing opening?

No the opening will need to be widened but there's hopefully enough space before the next joist.

Pretty sure your going to need a building notice on that.

Use the stairbox plans along with info on widening opening.
Eg doubling joists. Coach bolts every 600mm etc

Confirm headroom and banister handrail clearance with them.

Just allow for it with staircase width. Don't forget to cater for plasterboard/plaster or timber trims

It's to make sure people can get hand fully around the rail

Is the smallest flight the step itself?
There's a bedroom door near the top that opens into the bedroom, it's 750mm from where the top step should be.

Not hard to build them.
Personally I'd always chose to build myself as I work alone.

That one would come down in one run with the wind and landing bit in pieces of pre built.

Personally speaking, I think the turn shown in the pictures above by @eLuSiVeMiTe looks better. Removes that square boxy look, adding character to the house.

Not a fan of the mdf treads, how thick are they? When I looked there were quite noticable differences between suppliers of material specs.

I think the needs the little landing at the bottom to line the top of the stairs up with where they need to be?

better to have that square bit than to have normal stairs starting there but having to walk right to the front door and do a little U turn each time you want to go up?

I would have gone for full line myself but with the oak they needed to keep the cost down. 32mm thick.
