Ive gone for it. Half the price fitted of the grabber at3, look a chunkier tread too. Thought id better do the spare aswell, was date coded 2008

Well had the Continentals on a few weeks now. They seem very quiet, not much else to report. Predictable grip wet or dry. If they wear as well as the Grabbers I'll be happy.
Nope I ended up going with
Nankang conquerer mt-1
Worked out nearly £30 a tyre cheaper.
(£113 a tyre)
And for the amount of miles the truck is going to do I'm not fussed.
Did treat myself to some 17x8 modular steels also to put them on.
And staying 265/65/17 rather than going up to the 70 profile I don't need to worry about changing the spare.
Yep wanted a set of the 8spoke as reminds me of the old weller steels rather than the circle pattern.

Do love the look of them, and fit great.
Only thing is now I notice how rusty the drums and calipers look so ordered some vht paint for them now.
Even went to the point of getting shortie motorcycle valves to fit in the wheels to make it harder to catch them.

What they like for road noise
Little bit rumbley but not unbearable.
Would still go a distance up the motorway at 70 and not hate it.
Only a smidge worse than the bf Goodrich at3 on previous.

Just got a set of 235 65 17 Goodyear wrangler hp for my Freelander 2 on Sunday. From kwikfit 
on offer for £413.80 for 4, over £100 cheaper than some, hate going to kwikfit but they do sometimes work out better. Last set of wranglers lasted me about two and a half years. Not a fan of their work though 
Never seen doubled up balance weights before! Lovely and smooth though so not too fussed so long as they stay put...

I know, nearly hitting the caliper! If it needs that much fair enough but why not stick it side by side? I have a wheel balancer so will do it myself once the vibrations start

Well it was booked in on Monday for this morning at 11:30.
But
Dropped it off at 10, now heres the tale.
The online booking system doesnt tell the fitting branch that you are booked in, so they couldnt do it (5 tyres and tracking) before 4:30 pm, and they couldnt do it earlier anyway because the tyres are only delivered on the day, from a central distribution place, on a multi drop van, so they may not get the tyres in time. They were very apologetic, but obviously its not down to them. They have had this with most of the online bookings since halfords took over (national tyres)
I told them not to worry, its not fair on them having it put on them, and I don’t want them under pressure to get it done and rush the job, I want them to do it properly.
So its booked in for Friday, and a very strongly worded letter to the internet booking lot and a 1star trustpilot review to add to their collection
