4x4 tyre recommendations

Valves arrived so I've got them mounted, no posh machine for me so done manually.

I think I could have gone with a slightly wider tyre on the 8" rims but I need to see if these fit without rubbing first

What size did you go for?
And is this for your land cruiser?

Saw one the weekend on some 275/75/17 and did look good if a bit chunky

I went for 265 75 16 for a bit more ground clearance and yes it's for my LC

Was out with a later land cruiser on the lanes the weekend (2007/8)

And that was running 275/75/17.
(Lifted 2inches) and just was great.

Nice, I have a 79 series, just put BFG KO2's on it earlier this year

those side steps will be going if you start on the lanes or play days

I've already bent the steps a little so they will be coming off for play days. My missus can't get in it without them though

no laning for me, done it once and it took hours to polish out all the scratches

off roading you will get damage if not you are not trying hard enough

Fair play on fitting those tyres manually, often new rubber in big sizes is easier but still a bit of work.

But more importantly there appears to be a VW van in the background.

Update time, got the tyres fitted and on the truck for a weekend test drive.

They touch the mud guard slightly on full lock but that's easy to reshape out of the way.

The white lettering always scuffs up too and the tyres start looking very "used" before their time.

I remember buying paint pens to highlight the writing on tyres

Who says I'm not the Huggy Bear kind

They are just off roading wheels so I wanted the in your face look. Not that you would see the lettering after 5 mins in the mud

you need a couple of inch lift kit, wind up the torsion bars and some spacers for the springs on the rear

It's already on a lift kit, was thinking of doing a body lift but my Mrs can barely get in it now which is why the steps are still on it.
