My new winch switch/relay is installed and works great. I decided to make a mount for the switch where I think it will be handy when plowing..I made the mount from some electrical conduit flattened on one end and mounted to the bottom of the seat. I ran the wiring through it and routed it all under the floor panel under the dash and over to the relay. The chrome button on top is from an old cigarette lighter that just happened to fit in the pipe. it even moves in and out...but will not light your cigar....just a bit of fun...
The relay is really heavy duty...maybe a bit overkill really...but what the heck!
I have a new favorite wiring connector. I found this kit on evil bay. its an automotive style plug kit that comes with all the hardware you need for several 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 prong connectors. they are also waterproof. (or at least resistant).....it works great so far!
and in trying to make an "L" bracket for the lift hook from a longer piece of 1/4" stock, I accidentally engineered this curved one that will help with the lift angle...bonus!
You can see the bracket better in the close up. I also shimmed the bracket the stabilizer frame slides in to allow the roller inside to move more easily...Not sure if I will use grease on that roller, or some form of graphite, or dry lube. any ideas?
I did some more work on the tailgate and it is getting there, but wow, I should have ponied up and bought a used one! ah well.....it will be nice in the end....
thanks for lookin
