Thanks. It's been quite a while since I did that repair. I don't recall the gauge offhand, but the new metal matched the gauge of the original floor. If you'd like, I can check the thickness for you when I have a moment.
When I did this repair, I made a cardboard template that matched the original contours/shape of the floor reasonably well, which I copied with the metal repair patch. The patch dropped right into place with virtually no alterations, so my template was fairly accurate. As to the 'tab,' it's just echoing the shape of the original driveline hump, which had about a three-inch wide area where the profile of the driveline hump was different, sloping gradually down to the flat area that the battery box sits on, instead of having a little steep drop-off like the rest of the driveline hump. The tab extends an extra half inch or so to cover some damage.

DO NOT EXPECT THIS STANDARD OF RESTORATION on my 1944 Austin K6, it will be as usual done to driver quality not museum standard!
Maybe a bit like this but with a flatbed body, no crane! it has to fit through a 7 4" foot square garage to get into my garden / shed.

Cool project! There certainly were a lot of different K6 configurations. That's quite a hefty-looking winch on it. That should keep you busy for a while!
