Round here all the Victorian houses have an outside storm door that people tend to leave open during the day and an inside "front door" that stays locked. Just the way they were built.Why have you a lock like that on an interior door?

Although every door in the house actually has a mortice lock on it, even cupboards. Guess the Victorians didn't want the staff nicking the silver.
Those tiles … fantastic.We had the same 2 door set up, but when I was a kid the inner door wasn't locked during the day, we'd go up the road to my aunts and just walk through the door shouting "hello".
