What's the legality of fitting my own 16A spur with socket, rotary isolator and 16A C curve RCBO?

No, Council house.In a workshop?
No, Council house.
Ah right. It's notifiable so if you are not registered you need to tell building control before you do it.

I wouldn't jeopardise my tenancy, so I'll give it a miss.councill will get a bit sh,itty if you do. wouldnt bother about the notifying bit though![]()
It's a ground floor flat, so you can imagine all the paperwork involved, etc.Different rules in Scotland. I believe this would be notifiable if the work is done to a flat, but not in a house of two stories or less.

The worst that can happen is that they will want a certified professional to do it.Might be worth an ask. If they say no you're where you are now but you might hit the right person & get a yes.
If you do ask it might be worth finding some sort of use that doesn't involve powering hot works
But the use may go against the terms of a lease, especially a flat. The worst that can happen is that they will want a certified professional to do it.
There's a large isolation switched fitted by the energy provider, when the smart meter was fitted. The whole flat was rewired 2 years ago.Might be worth an ask. If they say no you're where you are now but you might hit the right person & get a yes.

I do have a spare ring main, with only 2 single sockets on it.Professionals look away now .
At my little workshop, a 32 amp socket is wired into the 32 amp ring main.
I figured that I will not be using anything else while I am welding. The machine does not pull that much in any case
That's what I'm thinking. But the use may go against the terms of a lease, especially a flat.
What size breaker is on that?I do have a spare ring main, with only 2 single sockets on it.
16 Amp. The one on the left of the photo. What size breaker is on that?
