Apparently not, they sent through the fixed penalty option only. So £100:00 and 3 points, but 3 points for speeding is so common now it doesn't even register on the insurance premium for most places. Well, not at our age anyway.
I don't really have a problem with getting pinged, it's the daft, out of date rule that's irritating. The max gross for my Vivaro is 2.7 tonnes and it's not supposed to go above 60 unless you're on the motorway where it suddenly isn't a risk.
The max gross for a range Rover is just shy of 3.5 tonnes, a camper is just over 3 tonnes, a Tesla is the same as my van, etc.It really needs updating to fit in with all the changes above 3.5 tonnes, license category, 'O' license, Tacho etc so that anything in that bracket and up has a 60 limit.
I suspect that's because it is a civillian company working for the police force doing the paper work and forwarding any unanswered letters/ info for prosecution after a bit more paper work .

and perhaps combine it with a cull similar to the deer discussion?
Meet anyone out and about and ask them "What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?". If they don't provide an answer, start a discussion or laugh then it's two to the head.
