Me neither, given the use they’re put variable speed to me is essential. I only got mine as it was in a job lot of Makita stuff a mate was selling.
Mate has 1 he uses for wood carving. I have used it on wood and it was pretty vicious, can't imagine what it would be like on meal.

I've used mine on metal only.
A Good half hour switching batteries to make a welding repair on a car rim disappear...
Little bit of milling on both regular and kinda hardened steel.
The only downsides are the noise and vibrations.
Honestly I've never had time to open it up and both see what it looks like internally, but most importantly check if everything is fine

It's the handle for a window cleaners squeegee . the bottom clamp under the picture and two screws plus the rubber blade is missing My squeegee circa 1988 is like your picture but in high grade stainless steel.
1971 I saw her live for 3/4 hr , in very very hot pants in a Combined Services Entertainment show in our 50 seat cinema Wulfen BFPO 15 .. I think it was Marty's way of giving her an introduction into show business . I suspect millions of possible babies were terminated that night after lights out .
We had this happen quite a lot both in Summer & in winter .. in Summer one side was in th sun for 5 hours so an imbalance was registered . I cold weather we discovered the shaded side adjacent to the still frosted caravan was 4 degree lower then the side in in the sun . So too hot or too cold on one side or 4 or so minus centigrade can upset the auto tyre reading which send out ultra sonic pulses and does comparison whit all four wheels especially if the microchips get below - 10 oC . Full programming up dates at servicing's and when we reported the problem seem to have cured most problems , but Friday after about -7 oC overnight the warning lights came on again on the side next to the caravan where the chill factor would be the greatest . It reset itself within 75m of me leaving home , 50 mtrs of it sounding the alarm before I could pull in safely .

Setting is usually done on a programme in the gear cog icon , go down the tool tasks till you get tyre pressure and click it has been done and needs resetting .
I too found that problem I have a 10 cu ft tank on my compressor .. IMO it needs to be at least 15 cu foot unless you are removing wood / doing wood carving with them .its why all my die grinders are air, strong enough to chew metal but stalls easy if snagged...those Makita 240V are sent here by the enemy to kill us
Like you I resorted to getting a 240 volt Makita die grinder ( Crimbo pressy from Santa in fishnets ) & I discover much to my annoyance the die grinder chuck sleeve does not clamp any of the set of six burr at all . I can pull them out with my fingers .
So tonight I've ordered what is supposed to be a genuine 1/4" shank set of five burrs from an eBay source that proclaims they are British ..but are the burrs British made , I ask as they are only a couple of pounds more than the Chinese made burrs ? .
We shall see what happens in a weeks time when they are supposed to arrive ..

This came in a full size box so mostly empty space so bought a one of those 3D printed tool organisers for the half size Packout organisers. Got to say I'm impressed as it's all a perfect fit and will now take up much less space.
Out of interest to those that have 3D printers, what would the cost (I paid £36 off eBay) to make such a thing with it's 2 main shells and 2 lift out organisers?

Buying filament in bulk is approx £6/Kg, or £10 individually. Difficult to tell the size from the photo but I think they would take a good few hours each to print so the price seems reasonable.
