Once you've had a backpack style bag you'll wonder why you ever used a normal rifle bag. A centrefire rifle with heavy moderator and a big scope becomes much nicer to carry across open terrain. Hands are free for binos or in my case, quadsticks.

I've honestly got this one because I need to store my airsoft replicas.
I have 3 AR style replicas but the bag I already have it's not great in first place, I've put two of my M4'S in it but the bag doesn't really close completely.
I didn't think about that backpack aspect of it but now that you mentioned that I've remembered about the last time I went to the airsoft field once finished the match and coming back home I was completely destroyed and had to park enough far away home and I couldn't get back home.
Because my legs were in pain already, I had a big Caterpillar bag on my right ( filled up with all the gear so plate carrier, magazines, helmet, pistol etc )
And I was seriously struggling with the rifle bag on my left.
Sure enough a backpack bag would have helped a lot.
I'll be honest I'm taking airsoft very cheaply, you can see people carrying real gear on their replicas I'm trying to go as cheap as possible both because of budget but also because if something breaks I'm not going to cry.
But I usually remove scopes before to put the rifle in the bag (QD mount )

Yesterday evening I acquired a Lidl electric die grinder, why ….. I don’t know as I’ve got an air one that I rarely use, it just seemed like a good idea at the time. Perhaps I ought to take it back, perhaps not, I expect I’ll find a use for it, at £16 it seemed too good to miss.

Idly looking on the ‘Bay yesterday & the Parkside die grinders are already on there for between £30 to £40, do people rush into the Lidl stores & put stuff straight on the web, or are there other official outlets for it?

I only bought one cos it was crazy cheap. I have a Makita one which I must admit I hardly use because it's so big and unwieldy. The Lidl one looks more manageable.

I know they're made in China but I don't know how they make and ship them for so little. Economies of scale and high sales/small profit margin I suppose

Does this version have variable speed control/dial at the end ? (tried looking at lidl site but could not find it)

Oh, that's more interesting. Mine is full on or nothing, and it's sometimes a bit too fast. I've got an arbor for putting 3" cut-off discs in it, but I don't use it because it's a bit ferocious as it has no shield.

Treated myself to this as got a few hydraulic hoses that need replacing so thought it was worth a go. Anybody else got one. They seem a vary in pice but look quite generic. Price has gone up since I pressed buy it as was £325 so thought it was worth a punt.

I think they do buy to resell because stores availability is often a bit random and sporadic and some things like the welders are hard to get hold of. There was also a website that was logoed up as Parkside which was just a (very convincing) scam site; not sure if it's still going.

It's certainly frustrating with Lidl that they advertise so many things that never appear in my local stores.

Haven't used it yet but the 1 - 6 switch is a click-click-click type, not a gradual one. Soft start is a feature I really like on one of my angle grinders but didn't expect it (or get it obvs) on something as cheap as this Lidl die grinder. I had never thought of putting small cut off discs in it but that's a good idea. I have a cheap Katsu mini grinder thing for that but this would be a good alternative and have a longer reach, though quite a bit heavier.

I agree. So heads can be retorqued without removing the rocker gear. And setting the tappets on pinto engines IIRC. Handy for other things too.
I don't have any of those, because I don't need them, but I still want them.

I used mine, with a 7mm Alan key, wedged against the vertical to undo a Astra top strut nut.
