I'll likely screw the jig down to a bit of MDF with the stainless sandwiched in between. Then smear some cutting compound over the lot.

OMG. If you had D&K I would have guessed Dee and Kev immediately. I now need to apologise to Poor old @Kram and @Dapph2 as I was totally wrong. Anyway, don’t feel too guilty about your mistake, it’s nearing Christmas and everyone makes mistakes (apart from some of us)

Good on you for fixing it. Too easy to chuck stuff away. The washing machine dealer I bought a new drum for our 20 year old washing machine from thought I was mad. Maybe I am.

In Feb 1982 I was aged 31 & on rehab at the Humberstone Road Rehab Centre in Leicester . One of the tutoring / assessing staff was making what looked to be an old fashioned wooden long drop toilet lid for the middle hole of a three seater crapper.
I asked him if it was for a toilet seat as described and he was rather indignant . This old 60 ish guy said it was " A replacement spinner lid for his dear old mothers Hoover 65twin tub washing machine " ..

Luxury, my father in law (aged 96) still has a separate washing machine and spin dryer and I think he has a spare spin dryer in the loft in case he needs any spare parts.

Got this lego Croc yesterday. I also got the build instructions.

This allowed me to get a kit list, then a few beers, then a trip to the loft to get the bricks.

Taking inspiration from another helper, I sorted the bits out.

We had a Hoover Keymatic bought in 1976 for £5.00 in a £5 & under sale section of the local paper. It lasted for about 5 years until the programmer failed. Also I worked for a guy that repaired them in 1967 for a few months. I had learned my lesson by previous experience & when he ****ed me off, I walked!

Our washing machine does that, or at least it would if I knew how to!

I stuck with repairing our old one...it has no Wi-Fi and no active drying.

Also I don't like the idea of connecting lots of appliances to the internet...how secure are they?
