I would say if thats what you "have" to do then ok, but I don't think we need too settle in 2025. I love my 03E, BUT if i can improve my experience and stars align then why not?craig imagine if you had to use papr with green lens and look through 5 layers of plastic![]()
Sadly not. One of the MANY things I truly dislike about this country and envy the crap out of the USA is lack of stores and even with a store its lack of choice, very different to the US where even Lowes/Harbour Freight have an array of welding stuff....we sadly have nothing like that. its mostly online and even then choice is fairly limited.is there a local welding store with masks on the shelf to test fit ?
@trigger3 it got worse, i bought an Optrel Sphere X CLT. will see how this compares
Ill give that a try, thanks......when it arrives and if we ever get any sunthe important thing is being happy with your equipment. i remember a few years back buying a miller 211. ijust wasnt happy with it. not that it welded bad but just wasnt happy with it as a whole. moved on to other machines that i found were a joy to use.
after owning several different brands of welding masks , theres only 1 ive ever been happy with.
believe me , i understand your quest to find what suits you best.
try your new mask right away outside in sunlight. a few years back i had the e684 and outside the sun would trigger the lens making it virtually useless to me. even on lowest sisitivity setting. thinking it was a dud i talked with optrel and they said put tape over the sensors. so they knew of the problem and that was their solution. after some research i found other people on the internet complaining of the same thing with their e684 lens. maybe theyve redesigned them recently to be better but its worth putting yours to the test now to be sure it can function outside properly. in the lower sensitivity settings , sun should never activate the lens of a properly designed mask
