Had a sheet of steel delivered for practice, seems a circ saw is now on the list because the angle grinder seemed a bit sketchy :/thanks for the update craig. i feel the plastic has a good ratio of flexibility and stiffness but i guess you prefer a more rigid shell ? i agree on your other points . a bag should be included no doubt so shame on 3m for no bag. atleast 1 or 2 front plates should be included definatly. however a pack of 10 is cheap ($35usd) on ebay and will last most hobbyists a lifetime
So Ive had a chance to use the lid, yes it seems strangely flimsy and decent at the same time, quite thin but didnt feel it would break at all if it bounced around. I was surprised it didnt have any protective film on any on the lenses for that new lens peel that people love.
I also like that one side adjusts parking friction and the other the general friction and that its very light.
One thing that happened a couple of times, halfway through a bead it flashed much brighter which caused me to stop for a minute or so because it messed up my sight, but maybe i put that down to the settings?
