The lower longer fire side companion set would be stored on a brass T stand. You are missing the horse hair brush.

The fuel, check to see if it suitable for pressure based heaters, lamp or torches. Some is not.

It should say.

Mind you I have had no issues with fuel what says not suitable for pressure units.

Yeah, it was listed as a jam pan; but you have to understand that I'm just a Tourist , and I wanted a brass bucket for coal. I've seen them listed on that well known auction site for between £24.oo to about £60.oo Pounds with the Antique or Vintage dealing vendors, but this one was offered at auction with a starting bid of ( £5.49 ) five Pounds forty nine Pence. I put in a reasonable bid, but was surprised when only one other person bid slightly above the the minimal offer. We already have an actual old brass coal bin with a steel bucket liner, but intend to use this for kindlin. Think they'll be practical and look good on either side of the iron fireplace.

I have a wall mounted brass support for the companion set which I brought from overseas, that was hand made by my Dad. After my Mother passed away and the house was cleared, I noticed it still on the wall and brought it with me for sentimental reasons; so it will be put to good use again, and surely bring a smile to my face.

Still looking for a compatible brass handled brush, but no hurry, as I'll be needing the Wife's approval.

Make your own out of a cheap eBay or Ali express brass bell

and a long natural bristled TAR brush head from Amazon for your fire grate brush . ( three for a tenner ?)


Then cast the intricate handle or buy one like this .... eBay item number:282736151602 then thread up some brass ?????? Brass handled toasting forks might be another eBay option .

I like it, but my Wife doesn't care for the bell option. She would prefer a brush like the one pictured below, as the handle would match the companion set we now have. We just don't need another dust shovel, and obviously the seller wouldn't want to separate; and it would not be polite to ask; so I'll keep a watch on the listing, and if the price drops I might go for it. Anyway, the companion set is longer than needed for our cast iron fireplace, so I'm going to shorten the brass rods to a more practical length.

A Dewalt multi tool. Since it came from Temu, irrespective of the stickers it may not be the genuine article...
Seems to work well, quick release tool holder is nice which my corded makita doesn't have. Vibrates a bit more than the Makita,but was also it was the equivalent of 35 UK pounds, or a quarter of the Makita.

Lots of tubes! Was only £22 for 2 bundles of 5x ~4" 6m long and 1 lot of 5x ~6" 3m long. Hopefully once I get them straightened and checked I might be able to use them for a turgo turbine micro hydro setup penstock but if not not a massive loss cost wise.

In 2005 I used to have a small fishing gear website importing direct from Chinese factories .. Jian the manager of one who was very good to me often rang me up . It turned out there were only four fishing hook making factories in China at the time they simply bagged up hooks according to the customers requirements and badging labels which were printed in house I designed a label for his factory inn the shape of a salmon looking fish spelling the company name .

Later on we started doing fishing reels .. ye gods & graces his associated factory a hundred metres away had thousands of variants of the hundred or so models that they would build to my spec in my colours and with my logo .

I suspect it is the same with what we think are unique original branded tools . find the basic machine , add colours , slightly different motors & gears etc and you have your own unique brand .

Way back in 1996 I attended a seminar where we were discussing was was then called " This internet of things " , where we would be able to buy unbranded quality goods direct from the Chinese factories and have our own brand logo's put on them.
The basic designs would be done in the so called civilised world , then made under licence in China or any other low waged country that had the ability to up skill the workers and provide the technical production required.

That change in colour of the yellow and black of the grinder is likely due to a less damaging cheaper plastics being used

I've seen those tube run over and they didnt respond to straightening out very well. They just sprang back flat. Perhaps you could make a couple of half-round timber blocks and press them back to some kind of roundness.

Wire armoured hose, used loads of the stuff. I've scrapped better, you can take out the flats with a sledge' if you're inclined.

After a long waiting time I've finally received the AN-PEQ 15 from AliExpress

It was supposed to be capable of IR laser wich it does

visible laser, Wich again it does...
And IR illuminator wich it doesn't and does this instead

I've asked for a refund but honestly I don't have time to waste so I've bought another one and skipped all the things to get my money back because I don't have the time to package the thing, deposit it whoever knows where in another city, wait a month for it to arrive its destination, wait them to examine the thing and eventually if they recognize their fault get my money back...
I now have to try to disassemble the thing and understand if I can replace the torch led and switch the contacts for the lasers

Most of the time on AliExpress they either give you a refund and say just keep it for low value or partial refund for high value as costs them more to return it even if you want a full refund

Those bauer couplings are very lossy, but it depends on flows and pressures.. may not be an issue for you
