You have indicated blasting "under a car"

So I can presume large areas and possibly a pressure pot.

In this case like my suggestion of a tandem compressor above then it's 18 FAD minimum you want. Anything less you'll have to stop and start all the time and it will be a painful process.

Good used is what you want - if in England you should be able to find a used tandem compressor for around your £400 budget.

good luck with that one, you will have to clean all the oil and crap off along with any underseal or your flogging a dead horse.even then it will take a good while using a cheapo pot with the silly ball grit valve fitted

It'll work but only as good as the tank size and you will be slow / lots of stop starts so not recommended at all for a job that size.

Yes.
A Rent a tow behind Diesel one (185 cfm) and pot, using a 5/16 nozzle and get on with the job.
Should be done in less than a day, under 4 hours usually.

What car? Mini or Rolls Royce?

I need a one that's easily to move about

It will either be big enough to do the job without having to stop frequently to let it catch up and cool down or it will be easy to move about, I don't see how it will be both.

Under £400, portable, runs from a house socket and capable of blasting the undersideod a car probably doesn't exist.

I understand I'm going to have to keep stop and starting dur to the low volume I just need to know the best option for my price range

People do this too- 2no 200L or similar compressors and link them together. So in effect you have a tandem compressor. But your want of the compressor being portable means this also is not viable for you... Im not sure what will work.

If tight for space wall mount the compressors and just use quality hoses to reach as far as you need.
