Worthwhile dunking the basket & contents in a mild acid solution before anodising, to remove any oxidisation or suchlike from basket & contents, possibly?

Specifically I use this, alkaline rather than acid but then I think that is what is required anyway.

A couple of slight modifications.
Mounting shaft machined eccentrically to allow for broach centering.

Spindle redesigned as the broach stayed in the work and had to be wiggled out with a pair of pliers. Grub screws now holds broach in place.


Broach now has a concave cutting face, well as concave as a 2.5" grinding wheel allows.
Broaching aluminium is easy, steel a little harder and stainless still has to be perfected before I have a go at my bar end weights!

We're getting fancy now. Using some server rails I rescued out of a skip at my old job

More mess. The porch step was a cast slab atop compacted rubble. Below that another slab. The £40 s/hand breaker gave stirling service!

Not so compact that there weren't rat's nest underneath this lot.
