they hired it

i have the dewalt 1300 w core drill and it certainly isnt under poweredLast soil pipe I did was with a DeWalt 240v ...bricks were made of Kryptonite because it took me about 3hrs!
I'd be interested in a good 240v ...the DeWalt was under powered and frequently got stuck.
I found the solid body type core drills get gummed up easily....anyone else noticed that?
bat the side with a hammer while rotating@Pigeon_Droppings2 me too, just tap the side or poke a small chisel inside and tap it to eject the slugs.
There might be one in a branch of the Northern Bank. Been there a few years though!Do you did they take the drill with them or might it still be there?![]()
Well I finally bought one. Locally on FB £25. A bit rough around the edges but it runs fine and is 230v what I wanted.

I have a 50mm core to run through a 300mm masonry wall in my garage this week. Ill test it on that first then if successful ill strip this drill and clean out the vents + replace any worn bearings etc to keep it good. The case is banjaxed too so ill be needing one of those and the proper handle.

The overtorque clutch in those is a service item (like an oil filter). It is worth keeping an eye out for a replacement as prices for that part vary considerably, from sub-£70 to over £100.
From memory, the handle thread is M12 fine thread which is unfortunate as it limits what you can screw into the hole.

Wish I had proper core bits! Done a couple of 65mm dia holes. The worst through the concrete garage floor then on through the concrete footings at an angle. Around 750mm. All to get a cable duct in.
This did me right in the end:
Getting my new water main I did similar, through the footings.
I made up a long extension bar from M16 stud:
Proper soul destroying doing it mind. Not looking forward to doing the other side of the garage. Will hire a proper long core bit.
this one?
this thread reminded me I need one
last time I cored drilled a hole I was under the kitchen bench with a battery Milwaukee... it caught spun round and hit me in the nose... pretty sure I broke it
it was already bent from a break before... but when I climbed out from underneath it was bent the other way... my girlfriend looked like she was going to cry it was so messed up :-o
I have the same SDS drill, did 40mm core drill though double skin brick wall OK.
That's a proper extension there!.
