I have.

I initially had problems with it warping and pulling off the bed.

I put one of those cheap ‘tent’ enclosures around the printer and let it build build up a bit of heat inside (high 20s C) and it prints well now.

No smell or ‘fumes’ other than a slight smell of plastic inside the ‘tent’.

I think it’s a good option for functional parts.

Compared to resin printing - or exMrsEgg's "cooking" - it's not even worth noticing IME.

As a "tough northerner", I always have doors+windows open anyway.

These containers were printed in abs on my p1s with no problem. They needed a small brim to stop them lifting. I usually use the app to turn on the heated bed for 10 minutes before printing . View attachment 503060View attachment 503061

I'd recommend taking a look at the "gridfinity" system for this type of bin.

It adds a grid system with magnets to stop the bins jarring loose. Doesn't really add much to the printing time beyond the grid itself (which takes a couple of hours) but adds a lot to functionality.

What's the crack with resin printing; Is it a worthwhile addition to the printer collection for owt other than figure/model creation? Is it an absolute faff, processing & cleaning wise?

As someone who owns a resin printer, I personally wouldn't bother unless you are into figures etc.
It has been banished to the shed as it is messy and stinks. I do have filtration but as soon as you open the lid the stench hits you.

Some oval blind grommets in polyurethane (TPU) for plugging chassis holes.

Bit of a battle to get them in, but I think that’s a good thing.

Snap in really securely and surprisingly tough: I had to jab a screwdriver into it to get it out, but it didn’t tear.

So I made a few more (shame I've only got lime green TPU )

They are to fit specific sizes so gridfinity not much use in this case.

Ah. Fairy nuff.
I hadn't spotted the case under the bins - or at least didn't correlate the two.

I'd got it in my head they were just to go in a drawer - probably because that's what I'm working on myself.

I ordered a 10kg "mixed random colour" of tpu from ?eBay? - ended up with 9 rolls of bright orange, and one roll of bright purple.

You need a direct drive extruder upgrade.

We printed it successfully on a standard Prusa i3 clone, the Anycubic i3 Mega S. No problem.

Is TPU difficult to print?

Prints OK on my Elegoo Neptune 3, but it has a direct drive extruder. I find it needs to be printed very slowly (30mm/s), but I haven't really worked on trying to optimise the settings beyond getting something that worked. Very stringy.

Which version of Ender 3?

Direct drive is far better, but I've seen it done on remote drive extruders.

I have no problems with TPU at all - I keep it in a sunlu drier, however.

Bambu p1s, I increased the "volumetric flow rate" from 3 to 15 which makes it print _much_ faster, with little decrease in print quality.
